Night Out workshops provide a fun, relaxed, adults-only environment for you to try your hand at art-making. Bring your own wine; light snacks are provided. Ages 21 and up.


 Mud + Merlot: Ceramic Coasters

Bring your friends to Laumeier Sculpture Park and get creative with clay while mingling with other adults! Sip on some wine while creating a set of ceramic coasters that you will proudly feature in your living room. Learn wax resist while experimenting with layers of colors! Bring your own wine (or other beverage of your choice); light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

Mud + Merlot: Inspirational Quote Plaques 

Bring your friends to Laumeier Sculpture Park and get creative with clay! Share a favorite inspirational quote or choose one from our collection to inscribe on your own ceramic plaque. Use letter stamps and other mark-making techniques that fit your quote best while learning how to incorporate interesting textures and vibrant colors that will turn up the vibe wherever you choose to display your new masterpiece! Bring your own wine (or other beverage of your choice); light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

Indigo Shibori Dyeing

A cocktail and creativity make for a great night out! Spend the evening learning about Shibori tying methods and its interesting history while chatting with friends and other creative adults. Sip on Blueberry Mojitos while submerging your fabric into a rich indigo dye vat. Choose between a large bandana or a silk scarf for your evening creation. Participants may bring a beverage of their choice; light snacks and themed cocktails are provided.

Are you an eager gardener wanting to meet others with the same hobby? Spend an evening at Laumeier Sculpture Park socializing with other green-thumbed enthusiasts and creating a whimsical garden bell that will enchant your garden all day and night! Learn how to cut shapes and build with clay while incorporating vibrant colors that will complement your annual blooms. Bring your favorite adult beverage; light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

ON + OFF THE WHEEL

Work with clay on or off the wheel, or take turns so everyone experiences the best of both worlds! Create functional and decorative clay pieces using both hand building and wheel throwing techniques following an instructor demonstration; select from a variety of glazes to complete your piece. Possible projects include cups, bowls, vases, tiles, plates and sculptures. BYOW (bring your own wine!). Pick up your finished piece at Laumeier the following week. 8-person minimum / 16-person maximum
 

WINE + WHEEL WITH FRIENDS

Create with clay while sipping cabernet or chardonnay! Gather your friends to try your hands at the potter’s wheel in a relaxed, fun and light-hearted environment. Make wheel-thrown objects including cups, bowls or vases following an instructor demonstration; select from a variety of glazes to complete your piece. BYOW (bring your own wine!). Pick up your finished piece at Laumeier the following week. 8-person minimum / 11-person maximum
